illuminated entry

Does anyone know why my illuminated entry isn't working. None of the interior lights go on when any of the doors are opened. The two dome lights that I have, turn on when i set it to the on position but doesn't turn on when i turn it to the illuminated entry position. when the doors are opened the warning light on the dashboard does come on. I'm guessing it might be a fuse, anyone know which fuse? or what is causing this? thanks.

vin number

I keep hearing if you have a 04 Nissan Quest with vin number after 48000 it passed the “bad batch”. How do you read the vin numbers to see if the vehicle has been built after the 48000, my vehicle’s vin number begins with 5 then a mixture of letters and numbers finally 6 numbers beginning with 3...any body please???
Thanks

HOT RODDING a 2000 GLE?

Are there any tricks or tips to "soup up" my 76,000 mile '00 GLE? There's lots of stuff out there for the VG33E, but most of the stuff I've seen for Frontiers and Xterras (exhaust, intake, etc) won't work with the "sideways" engine in the Quest. I'm not looking to take her to the drag strip, and I won't pour thousands of dollars into getting 10HP. I also can't tear the engine apart because it's my daily driver. Any idea what I could do to liven the old gal up?

Brake problem

Right front caliper locked up, so I replaced caliper and brake hose, and bled system of air. Afterwards, I had low brake pedal. So one at a time, I've replaced left front caliper, brake hose, and then master cylinder, and bled system each time at all 4 wheels. Pedal is good when I finish bleeding, but as soon as I drive it, pedal goes almost to floor then comes up to good level on second pump. Every time I apply brakes, they go low, then come up on second pump. I'm very certain I bled all air out of system. Looking for ideas on what to try next.

Rusty Plugs

Hello.

Just changed my spark plugs again, and the back three (closest to the firewall), have rust around the plugs. Is this a common problem, perhaps its just wash water leaking in, or is it a sign a more significant trouble?

Thank you.

Front brakes locking up on my 2004 Quest

It started gradually after driving it five miles on the street. Every time I braked, the front brakes started to drag more and more until I could no longer drive/move the van. After letting the van sit for 30 mins, I was able to drive it back home (using ebrake). Replaced front and rear rotors, calipers and pads, greased all pins generously and bled all calipers. Drove the van again and the same problem happened. Front/rear brake hoses appear to be ok, at least visually. I’m thinking of replacing the front ones.

Gas Tank Fill Tube Disconnected From the Rubber Seal Boot Inside Gas Cap 2004 Quest SE

My Gas Tank Fill Tube Disconnected From the Rubber Seal Boot Inside Gas Cap 2004 Quest SE.

I Tried to pull the tube but it does not give. It is not on the boot inside my gas door panel. The fill tube is pushed forward and up. It is kind of hard to fill it up.

Do I need a new boot? I don't know what a new boot should look like. It was like this when I bought it used. I can't seem to move the fill tube and just wants to return to the old position, is there a way to adjust this?

I just want it right.

Thanks in advance.

Have to give it gas to start, then it idles low (500rpms)

My wife's 2004 quest won't start unless I give it gas. Once it starts it idles low (500 rpms). It just recently started doing this and doesn't do it every time. The guy at the parts store said he thought the idle air control valve in the throttle body is going bad. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, was it the part he spoke of?

Driver's seat reclining adjustment not working

My 2004 Quest SE has the power seat adjustments. They all work except for the reclining function for the seat back. When I press the button, I can hear a single click underneath the seat that sounds like a switch trying to activate. This noise is heard with the other seat adjustments that do work just before the motors turn and adjust the seat. Does this sound like the motor that reclines the seat back is bad or stuck? Or could this be an electrical issue? Thanks.
