While driving one day, my Quest stalled. It started again once cooled down. The problem repeated. I changed the fuel filer and the fuel pump and that didn’t solve the problem. I ran the engine for about an hour and had a fuel pressure gauge installed upstream and downstream of the fuel filter. Over the hour, the fuel pressure dropped from about 38-40 psig down to about 22-24 psig. After an hour and when the engine is hot, it starts to run rough and then eventually dies. It starts back up and then dies again. When cold, it runs like nothing at all is wrong. Any ideas?
From other threads, a similar symptom of running good while cold and rough while hot happens when the distribuitor is about to die.
Did service engine light coming on when runing rough?
Replace distributor,,get a NEW Rich porter brand.
