My 2004 nissan quest has a problem with the power steering. It is very jerky especially when it is cold but gets better as it warms up. the problem is getting progressively worse. what to do?

It’s not the power steering. It means your rotors are warped. Go have the brakes changed and the rotors resurfaced. I had the same problem and just replaced the rotors with better ones.

According to Nissan the rotors where too small for the Quest and made out of specification. As a result they warp like crazy and cause the steering to jerk and shake.

    Hope that helps 🙂

How exactly does ‘jerky power steering’ feel?

In my experience when rotors are warped they become worse as they are heated. She is experiencing this problem when cold.

Did you inspect your steering system (fluid level etc.)?
