I recently installed a valley hitch on my 2005 quest s. The problem is that the darn thing is too low. I’m tired of scraping the hitch on inclines/declines. I saw a quest at the dealer the other day and it’s hitch pops out under the bumper in a cutout of the rear valence. I like it and that should eliminate the dragging but nissan doesn’t sell the stock hitch. They say it is a “factory only” part. That’s nice. If you have a hitch on your quest post a pic if you don’t mind. I’d be interested to see how it compares to mine. I’ll post a pic as tomorrow of my valley hitch. The only thing I can think of it to take the hitch down and modify it. There is room for my valley to fit up behing the black valence. I’d need to cut almost 2″ off each side of the hitch and weld it back together. Then I’d just have to make a cutout for the receiver to come out.

I went with a Hidden Hitch brand. The main part of the hitch is behind the bumper cover, but the receiver tube still sticks out below the bumper. It sometimes drags when the van is loaded. Hasn’t caused a problem, so far. I’ll try to get a picture posted.

I couldn’t figure out how to add a pic to the comment section so I used it as my pic. Does anyone know how to add a pic to the comment section?

standard <img src=”http://myhost.com/location/image.gif” /> should work. Alas I cannot provide image uploading currently.

I purchased a hitch through nissan and installed it myself. It is is the one you described that is cutout through the vallance.I had to cut the vallance and they also sell a trim piece that you put on the edges that you cut to dress it up. I am extremely happy with the way it turned out.i dont have a pic but like i said it is the one you saw at the dealer.

Here’s what the Hidden Hitch looked liked in the as-shipped condition. I’ll get a picture of the rear of the van and post that.

Before I bought my Valley I spoke to the parts department and they said that they didn’t sell the hitch your speaking of. I wish I could of got the stock one as the Valley drags on angles.

I bought a hitch on ebay in October for about $135 including shipping. So far I have not scraped it and my quest sits about .5 inches low because of my tire size. The brand name is Curt. Here are some pics…please excuse the dirt and the rusty ball.

I was having the same problem with my 05 quest, Every time I had passengers in the back the hitch would hit the ground going out of the driveway and also when it bottomed out on the road. I installed these air bags that go inside the rear coil springs. Now the van can really take a decent load without bottoming out. Matter of fact since I put them in I have’nt hit the hitch at all. I have a hidden hitch, and the air bags are made by Firestone, They were about $75.00 online, And took about an hour to install. I would try that before you modify the hitch. And the bags also give you a more stable ride in the rear.

I just purchased a 07 quest and I am wondering if you had the part number of the product you purchased. I called the nissan dealer and they have no clue and want me to get a aftermarket hitch and i do not want to do that.

    Thanks

What brand hitch did you buy. Do you know if it was an Ebay Store
