We have a 2007 Nissan Quest with side power door. My wife is driving and our 3-year old son in the car seat next to the power door. While my wife is backing out of the garage, my son presses with his toe the button to open the door. The door starts to open and is damaged when it hits against the side of the garage as the car is moving. Our son was unharmed.
Is the power door supposed to be able to be opened by the touch of a button while the car is IN GEAR? This seems to me to be an extremely dangerous defect. I shudder to think what could have happened if my wife or I were driving with our son and it happened while the car was moving at 60 mph.
Anyone have any thoughts or experiences with this?
