I have a 2009 Quest. In the rear, overhead console I have 2 pair of HVAC vents. It seems that the pair of vents closest to the center of the van will only blow cold air and the rear pair will only blow heated air. When I switch the temp controller back and forth between cold and hot the air flow switches between the pair of vents.

Is that the case with other quests? Is this standard?

do you have the separate rear heat control. If so, push it to turn it’s green indicator on/off, when it’s off, driver has control of rear heat with dial on overhead, when light is off, rear passenger side rider has control.

Only cool air will blow through the overhead vents while the rear floor vents will emit hot air.
