passenger side low beam headlight

my headlight went out so I went ahead and replaced it.. To my surprise it did not function. I swapped it with the bulb from the drivers side and it too did not work. When I plugged the new bulb into the drivers side it worked. I am under the impression that the passenger side socket is either out or maybe the ground is not making contact? Anyone have/had this problem?

Whenever you have an electric
Whenever you have an electric problem with Nissan, try to find the relay AKA switch (not button!) which powers the part.
Check nicoclub.com for FSM and trace electric diagram to the relay. You will most likely find it in a fuse box under the hood (I have not looked at any yet, so not sure).
Try knocking on a relay with your finger or knuckle while the lights are turned on and see if the left light comes on. If that's the case, go buy new relay, take the old one to the parts counter so that the dumb ass who works there can find the part number. I've dealt with dealership parts clerks who never heard the word 'relay' in their lifetime, although that's the term used in the FSM.
