OK, When you crank it up it bogs really badly and you cant give it gas or it will die.. When it first started it would run fine in till you would turn on the AC then it would bog down and die right away no matter what speed. Then it would take a while to get it to run good again. Now its to the point to where it doesnt get over 500 rpm.. and will die if you touch the gas. Now things that I've changed out or tried... Tune up, fuel filter, plugs, cap, rotar, ect.. Changed out the Coolant temp sensor, The MAF mass air flow, cut off the ac compressor belt (make sure the compressor wasnt locking up) I tried taking out the O2 sensor so the exaust could flow properly (if the cat or muf were clogged) Now the only thing is that the plugs will get all brown and gas saturated like its getting too much gas!! Made sure its in perfect timing. OH and tried different PCM. Any ideas at all the engine is in awesome shape just happened out of the blue.. Need help on this one...

95 quest strange engine problem need help

bdijanni,

I have a 95 Quest XE, 125K miles, with the same symptoms as described in your posting. The problem started "from out of the blue" about 2 weeks ago. I've replaced the rotor and fuel filter, but nothing else. I thought about replacing many of the other items you listed, but since it didn't work for you I held off. With the miles on the car, I'm wondering if it is the EGR valve.

Did you ever figure out what the problem was. If so, would you be kind enough to share the information.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Unplug EVAP Canister hose

Unplug EVAP Canister hose from throttle body and hold with some kind of plug. Make sure Air filter is secured, sounds like a vaccume leak some where.

Hard to say...

Did you try the fuel pressure regulator?
