I own a 05 Quest, and have been experiencing problems with the "service engine soon" light periodically comming on and going off. Initially, it was not known what the problem was. After the second time I took the car to my dealership, they diagnosed a very expensive problem, which thank goodness, was still covered under my warrenty. I was advised the "ECM", or vehicles major computer centre was failing. The service person showed me the computer, which was covered with corrosion and looked like it was laying in the bottom of the ocean for years. Apparently, the computer is located within the engine, right underneith the windshield wipers. Upon review, I found it alarming that water and other liquids had easy access to the computer, which had caused my problems. Normally, the computer is installed inside the front dashboard area on most north american vehicles, I think?? I was advised this would be a $1200.00 part/ Canadian currency, and will most likely have to be repaced in another 2 years, or anoter 70,000 km.

I contacted Nissan Canada, and lodged a complaint. However, they advised that once my warrenty is up, I will be responsible for the next computer. If and when other 05 owners experience this problem, please complain to Nissan, so that a recall is initiated.
