Hi, I've tried reading on most threads in this forum.. most have answered my queries while some may have confused me more.

Here's the situation. Just bought a 98 quest, 116000miles, but has been sparingly used if not at all in the last year. Its running well except for some issues:

1. timing belt hasn't been replaced
2. CEL is on (checked it with a universal OBDII reader at advanceauto showing P0325, and P1041)
3. coolant has sludge
4. whining/humming noise in the middle of the car

I work on my cars (mostly mechanical) but when it comes to sensors, I'm not so confident. The help I need is more towards solving the CEL light. I am wondering if P0325 is really the knock sensor(since some threads say its the O2 sensor) and if so, would it be related to not having used the car so long and also the timing belt needs rplacement? If its the knock sensor, I read that it shoudn't turn the CEL light on. So what do I do?

My 1997 Quest check engine light went on. The scan code indicates it is EGR error. Has anyone experienced with this problem?

Problem for over a year now - wipers will turn on, but no intermittant sweep, either on (slow or fast) or off...at other times, you have to push in the end to get the pump going for the wipers to start...Nissan dealer has replaced the whole arm switch (first try) and the motor *second try), but still have the problem - I asked if there was a relay and was told no - has anyone else had this problem with a 1994 Quest ? Thanks in advance

1998 Quest. Rear A/C blower became intermittent when trying to turn on (sometimes would come on, others not), finally, won't come on at all. Have taken the rear fan out and it checks good. I found a vertical row of relays, about 7 of them, next to the fuse panel in front of the driver's left knee. According to my 1996 manual, there were four relays there and the rear blower relay was the second or third down (not important).

I need to know if the '98 rear fan relay is in this row and which one?? Also, is there still a relay on the printed circuit board of the dash control unit? (as shown with the defective solder joint here: http://home.earthlink.net/~vqfaq/ )

My 93 has recently begun to lock all the doors whenever it wants. Usually it's whenever the passenger door closes but not always. As a precaution, I've tried to enter a new code into the keypad following the instructions in the manual. I have the original code, but I can't get it to work. Am I missing something? I bought it used so I don't know if the code was ever reset or not.

My boss just gave my wife and i a 98 quest. I am having 2 problems with it.Any ideas?

Problem #1 When it is cold outside it smells like gas in the interior. When its warm out it doesent smell.

Problem #2 Every once in awhile when useing the heat it will just cut out.Then if you let it sit it will work again.The coolant is full and there is no leaks.

I´m from Bavaria Germany and owner of a Canada imported ´97 Quest.
My car has a problem with the headlight and high beam. Always when I put the switch to headlight or push the lever to high beam, only the left light is burning and the right didn´t and the high beam indicator light is shining all the time.
I checked the right lamp of course and it is ok.
The car also has a daytime running light and this shines mostly on both sites, if it is not shining then the high beam indicator light shines weak.
I think the problem is a relay which has a bad contact; because in the first time the lights sometime works after a short time, but now the right side is "dead".

It seems the hinges in both of my sun visors got too stiff, so moving them up and down eventually broke the material inside and now they just hang down. I've looked at a few dealer web sites and they seem to want well over $100 each. I see gray ones on eBay (I've been watching off an on for months), but not a set of blue. Does anyone have a source of new or used ones that are below dealer price?

Does anyone have information on how to cure a
bouncy vibration that is very noticable after 85 km ... it feels like a tire(s) has a bump or something is out of round....have had tires replaced, rims and tires balanced and trued, CV axles replaced.

From next week I'll be owner of 13 years old Nissan Quest 3.0V6.
It is quite "exotic" car in Poland. I afraid about availability of spare parts. What models are "compatible" with Quest? (I know - Mercury Villager - but Villager is not present on polish market). Could anybody send me user/service manual in pdf? (greg(at)cybernet.com.pl). What is most important to check when buying Quest?
Is 1200$ good price for 13 yo Quest?
