For those of you who are into Nissan cars may be familiar with nicoclub.com. Well, until recently they added a forum for the Quest. It just started, so not much contents yet, but I found nicoclub to have a lot of knowledgeable, savvy and passionate Nissan car lovers...

Upgrade Prep

We are upgrading (for real this time). As such we have had to clean up the database and this has killed search temporarily. Thankfully Google indexes us very well, to find anything in the meantime use google and add "site:questdriver.com". Hopefully we'll be upgraded in less than a week.

We seem to get hit by a spambot about once week. This last one was particularly aggressive in the number of posts it made. Having wiped it out as also cleared the front page of the site. if you want to see recent posts, please use the forum link in the upper left corner. I apologize for the inconvenience.

RSS Buttons

Subscribing to QuestDriver just became easier. Add the RSS feed to your favorite portal using the convenient buttons on the right side. Keep in mind the RSS feed never contains comments -- you'll have to browse the site for those replies.

Images enabled

Notices from this site, including the password retrieval, are sent from "admin@questdriver.com". You may need to add this address to your address book to prevent it from landing in your SPAM or Bulk Mail folder. Sometimes automated emails don't look legit to filters and get canned.

Sometimes a few days or maybe even a week may go by without a new thread or news story. Keep in mind only brand new threads will generate a new RSS article. There may be plenty of new comments, so check back on occassion and you may be surprised!

User Profiles

Just a note, based on what I see in the logs, alot of anonymous users attempt to view user profiles. Only registered users have this ability. If you want to get to know each other and contact each other, I encourage you to sign up. Your information is securely stored and not used for any purpose other than identifying you, resetting your password, etc.

Also, I have enabled the inter-user contact form. Registered users may now contact each other via email using a form available on their user profile. Your email address remains hidden if you are the recepient, and stays that way until you decide to reply.

Site Promotion and New Members

I'd like to welcome our recent influx of new members. It's great to see fellow Quest owners coming together. Starting a new community is very difficult -- its very easy to get lost in the clutter of the internet. You can help this community grow.

IE and PNG

Just an FYI, if you use Internet Explorer, the current logo looks weird. This is because IE cannot display PNG graphics properly. I do all my development on either a WinXP machine with FireFox or a Mac, so I didn't notice the problem until today. I'll be switching us back to a GIF (bleh!) tonight.

Complain to Microsoft, not supporting PNGs is just madness.

Technical details: PNG can display multiple levels of transparency, that is images can appear ghost-like, semi-transparent. GIF can only display one level of complete transparency. IE treats PNGs like GIFs and this anything semi-t
