Headlight Flashing On/Off

I recently purchased a 1999 Nissan Quest. I noticed moisture in the casing for the driver side headlight. Now, the bulb intermittently turns on and off. Do you know where I should start to look for the trouble. I appreciate your assistance.

Alarm System on 1999 Quest

I have a 1999 Quest and when I click the remote to arm the alarm system, the lights flash and it makes a weird noise but the horn does not honk. I read the manual and it tells you how to enable the horn by pressing two buttons on the key fob. That does not work.
Any clues?

tv/vcr not working

so I just bought a 1999 quest... the tv/vcr has no power Im thinking its a fuse but can't locate the one that controls them.. any one know where to look? plus the rear vent windows don't open maybe they use the same line? the box under the hood has a fuse for power windows but it looks fine plus the drivers windows work.. besides the display on the radio I can't find any thing else that does not work.. I am about ready to pull the tv/vcr out so I can just walk threw to the back but they are kind of cool in a way, sort of retro..

what are the factory radio presets?

so i changed the timing belt on my 99 quest. now the radio stations i preset have been erased.

in most modern cars, this wouldn't be a problem, but since my radio display doesn't work (stop laughing), i have to do this blindly.

so, i was wondering if anyone knows that the default station presets are? if i know that, it might make my life a little easier.

i've googled but i couldn't find anything.

thanks!

1999 Nissan Quest chugs and dies when hot

Up until last week, my Quest did great. It started hesitating, chugging and losing acceleration. After that, it dies. It doesn't start, again, until it cools down.
My husband replaced the fuel pump and thought that was the problem. It did it, again, today. It didn't take as long to start this time, however. Before, it was taking about an hour or longer. It started up in 15 minutes while ago.
Any thoughts?

QUESTIONS about the 2001 Quest from a NEW owner.

1. Has anyone ever "fixed" their low mpg. What I mean is did anyone get 17 mpg, then do something that took them back to 21 mpg or so? I get 17 with a light foot and with little traffic on the roads and hwy.

2. Is heat only available out of the front vents and under the seats? I have a 2001 GLE with rear air.

3. Does anyone have the upgraded stereo and the display goes out occassionally? Who is the mfg of that system? It sounds incredible! Where is the subwoofer?

4. Are there any reasonable performance upgrades that are worth the money? CAI? Exhaust? chip?

5. Sometimes the gear shift seems stuck and requires a serious pull to pull it out of park, is their a fix for this? A spot to lube?

Moonroof question

My wife and I just yesterday bought a 1999 Villager, which I'm sure you are all aware is a twin sister to the Quest. So far, we are thrilled with this van. It has 100,000 miles and still looks and drives as straight and solid as brand new.

Anyhow, I got to messing around with the power moonroof - it will tilt up at the back if the button is pressed one way, or will retract into the headliner if pressed the other way. My problem is that I cannot seem to get it to seal tightly between the two modes. It's real tricky tapping that button to get it to stop without it starting to tilt up or retract. I'm getting a fair amount of wind noise due to this as well. I'm also concerned about leakage during rain or carwash. I read through the owner's manual and there's nothing there to explain how to make it stop right at the fully closed position. Is there a secret trick to this that I'm missing?

1999 Quest Rear Wiper Problem

Frequently, but not always, the rear wiper when activated drops down on the rear deck and stays there. I have to open and then close the rear window to get the wiper to return to its original position. I'm looking for the cause and solution. Thanks, the forum looks good.

2000 Nissan Quest -Alternator Good but NEW battery always loses charge?

If I leave any of my car doors open for longer than 3 minutes my battery losses charge and I have to get a jump to get the car started.

I took it to my mechanic and he is baffled. He sold me a new battery and gave me 2nd new one for free when that didn’t work. He tells me he checked the alternator and it is good.
After using up all my AAA visits I finally bought one of those portable jump starters, but this is infuriating.

Once I start it up the battery will charge but God forbid a door is open a crack or I listen to a song on the radio without the engine running.

If I do then I'm back to jumping the vehicle.

2000 Quest GLE HVAC button lights: NOT the green indicator (those work)

I am hoping one of you can help me out. I have been all over the internet and about a dozen forums and cannot find this answer. I can find tons of "how to replace the bulb in the HVAC unit" (auto climate control) however that is not my problem.

My problem is that the actual BUTTONS and the fan dial will not light up. The green lights telling me what button is selected ARE working.

Hopefully you can help me out. It is very annoying to have to guess which vent position they are in in the dark...
I have taken that hvac unit out so many times to look for some hidden tab connecting the face plate so that I can get to the inside that I can do it blindfolded. Is there any danger of screwing anything up if I take the faceplace circuit board off and expose the LCD for the auto climate display?

Loss of Accelaration While Driving

I have a 2000 Quest that will randomly refuse to accelerate and I lose the ability to use the gas pedal. Its like it has run out of gas but the tank is full. The gas pedal doesn't respond to my mashing it and I have to limp to the side of the road, put it in park, rev up the engine, then pull back into traffic. None of the warning lights come on and everything else works fine. I've had numerous mechanics look at it and they all just scratch their heads. I did have the distributor replaced but it didn't solve the problem. I've been told the fuel system is fine. The weird thing is it usually happens on my way home from work in the exact same places along the interstate and on another road near my house. It doesn't matter what the temp is outside but I think being in slow traffic and then speeding up has something to do with it. Maybe even a small incline.

Speedo problems

Hello. I have 99 Quest with a dead speedo. It did the bouncing around thing, and now is totally dead. The check engine light is on and the o/d light flashes on start-up. I have seen the same problem posted here and other forums, however I have not come across what exactly the problem is and what the solution may be. This is what I know for sure:

- it is not the cluster (I replaced it)
- the obdII codes given are for speed sensor and knock sensor
- with equipment hooked up to the computer it (the equipment) will tell me the speed the van is going. Just wondering if anyone has found solution to problem. Thanks
