2007 Nissan Quest Debuts at Chicago Auto Show

Nissan reveals redesigned 2007 Nissan Quest at the Chicago Auto show.

WOW the interior changes are really nice!

"The heart of the new 2007 Quest, of course, is the revised interior.

The new instrument panel moves the gauges in front of the driver.
· We’ve changed the location of the DVD changer
· Moved and refined the in-dash information display screen
· Revised the upper console and incorporated the rear HVAC controls there
· Enlarged the glove compartment
· Added chrome or wood-style accents
· And changed the knobs"

External News Story

Quest Among Best Minivans for Side Impact Crash Safety

IIHS, November 6, 2005

1ST SIDE IMPACT CRASH TESTS OF MINIVANS: TOYOTA, HONDA, NISSAN MODELS PERFORM BEST

The IIHS is pretty tough, so getting good marks from them is impressive. Three minivans with standard side airbags — Toyota Sienna, Nissan Quest, and Honda Odyssey — earned the Institute's highest rating of good (side airbags were optional in the 2005 Sienna). The Sienna and Quest earned the added designation of "best pick" for side crash protection.

External Press Release

Test Results
Without optional aibags
With options

Factory-Installed Satellite radio: XM now the option

November 2, 2005 PR Newswire

Bad news for hybrid Nismo-Stern fans, no SIRIUS radio for your Nissan. At least not as a factory option. This week Nissan and XM jointly announced that the car maker would offer XM radio has its factory installed option. Don't get too anxious, they won't be available until the 2008 model year.

Currently buyers have the option of either SIRIUS or XM as a $350 option.

Nissan Concept Van: the Amenio

October 2005

Nissan unviels the concept van, Amenio, at the Tokyo motor show. 6 captains chairs, very plush and even more spacey than the Quest. I like how the front doors and sliding passenger door aren't attached to a pillar, reminds me of our old Element. Then again, closing the doors on that was a PITA! If this goes to market, rumor says: Japan only

External News Story: MotorTrend

Also illustrated was the Wingroad, a preview of a compact wagon.

Nearly All Minivan Headrests Unsafe

The IIHS always creates a stir when then have a press release. It looks like most vehicle, not ust minivans, have poor headrests. This is a shame, as whiplash is an easy injury to get even in a minor fender-bender. Follow the link below for the IIHS release.

iPod coming to 2006 Nissans

Apple announced that Nissan will offer seamless integration with the
iPod in 2006. I believe this will be a top-trim feature, using
the NAV system.

Nissan Quest News

This story on iPodNN also gives some details on iPod NAV units coming to Nissan.

Nissan Quest News

Finally, for those like me who can't wait, this thread in our forums is
investigating using the SAT port to connect an iPod.

AutoWeek

7/28/05 AutoWeek
Interview. Nissan blames slow sales of
Quest on radicial interior. Most minivan buyers are pretty
conservative; this is a no brainer. I guess it took Nissan awhile to
admit it to themselves.
Christian Science Monitor blurb

8/19/2005 Christian Science Monitor
A very short piece. They seem to think the Quest was designed in France. Funny, I thought it was San Diego.
